In this talk, we will see how to use patterns from functional programming to solve problems you know from the imperative style, but much more elegant and in a more compositonal way. We will walk through slides and code, demonstrating functional patterns e.g., Monoids with Apache Spark and the functional way of exception handling. The talk aims to serve as an introduction to patterns from functional programming and is suited for both beginner and intermediate FP enthusiasts.
