But could algorithms do more than driving clicks on online ads and be used to save or improve the lives of millions? Paul Duan is the Founder and President of Bayes Impact, a Y Combinator-backed NGO based in San Francisco that uses data science to solve social problems. Nicknamed the « White Knight of Silicon Valley » by Le Figaro, he was previously the first data scientist at Eventbrite. With a team of top Silicon Valley engineers, data scientists and academics, Paul’s work at the intersection of technology and policy has led him to work with governments and NGOs around the world to leverage algorithms for the common good.
