Feature or tech debt? The ever-present point of contention that haunts us all. The 2022 Ember Community Survey estimates, 75% of work projects may be stuck on Ember v3 or below. A follow-up survey in December points to the lack of resource (internal) and outdated addons (external) as main reasons. But why did these situations arise? What can we do differently? In this talk, we'll face the hard truths and seek practical ways to reach v4+. Based on the true story of 1 maintainer (me), 1 monorepo (w/ 195 packages), and 1 year to fix (a gazillion) problems.
